Our Story

Hi I’m Sumika. Founder and floral designer of Sumika Florals.

I love snuggling in a blanket with a cup of coffee in an oversized mug, skiing in freshly fallen deep snow, family-time with my husband and two boys, and alone-time with me and my thoughts. I am originally from Tokyo but love it here in NY just as much.

Flowers have always been a love but not a career choice, until I realized the profound effect they had on me. While I was pursuing my corporate career, I began noticing the tension release when touching flowers and displaying them around the house. Trimming the stems, changing the water, creating balance within a chosen vase, and seeing them light up a room became a wellness activity that gave me creative freedom and added joy to my daily routine. I knew that this was something more people should enjoy, and that people deserve quality flowers!

The Seasonal floral subscriptions are our signature, and what makes me most proud and excited. We hope we can play a small role in bringing joy and nature’s beauty to you and your loved ones.

How Do Our Subscriptions Work?

Choose a plan

Choose frequency of delivery (weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly), duration of subscription (3, 6, or 12 month), form of flowers (bouquet or DIY flower bunch), and size of flower bunch (small, medium, large or extra-large).

Receive Flowers

Subscriptions are delivered on Tuesdays and Fridays. Let us know if there is a preference on the day of week in the “Comment to Florist” section. Now just sit back and relax. You will be receiving the most gorgeous flowers, right at your doorstep.

We share care tips and arrangement ideas with your flowers to inspire you. subscription. Get your favorite vase ready, and get creative with your presentation!

FAQ'S

Yes, after your first delivery, you can cancel at any point of your subscription. We only ask that you give us 2-weeks’ notice prior to your next delivery date. This can be done very simply via email.

Absolutely. We all have travel plans and busy periods of the year. You can pause your subscription up to three consecutive deliveries, or choose to skip a delivery at any time of your subscription. We only ask that you give us 1 week notice prior to your next delivery. This can be done very simply via email.

Yes! Please make all changes online, or contact us through email. Other changes like payment form, delivery address, and contacts can all be accommodated. Please reach out at your earliest, and we will do our best to accommodate.

Shipping for Subscriptions are complimentary, always.

Yes! Subscriptions make a very special gift, that reminds your recipient that you are thinking about them time and time again. There is an option to add a message card to your flowers which can be personalized with each delivery. Also, we will contact the recipient prior to delivery to notify delivery schedules. It will be wonderful!

Our standard policy requests the customer or recipient contacts our shop directly at 929-240-4328 to report any issues within 48 hours. Please contact the shop directly to ensure proper compensation and replacement. We do not process any requests for refunds after 24 hours.
